The FG Wilson dealer Madek provides critical backup power to Ukraine's largest commercial data centre.

Parkovaya Data Center

MadekFG Wilson, the official FG Wilson reseller in Ukraine and one of 370 FG Wilson resellers worldwide, has successfully completed the delivery of a backup power solution for Ukraine's largest commercial data centre.

Madek's highly qualified team of expert engineers has provided two P1375E3 generator sets and four P1700P1s at the Parkovaya data centre in central Ukraine. Commissioned in early 2014, the project was delivered on time, on budget and to specification.

The scale and scope of the facility, combined with the engineering solution provided by Madek and the FG Wilson generators installed, help to reaffirm Parkovaya's position as one of the world's leading data centres. All the parameters of the data centre meet the requirements of level III in accordance with international standard TIA-942.

The six generators have been installed in the machine room of the data centre inside the special compartment. They are synchronised with each other and will provide emergency power in the event of a mains failure.

Commenting on the project, Dmitry Gladkyi Sales Director, Madek said:

The design and installation of the fire extinguishing system was also an important part of our work, as was the delivery of the synchronising power boards and the cabling of over 300 m of 2500 A electrical track. "

The total capacity of the back-up power station, based on the installed FG Wilson generator sets, is 9550 kVA. Four synchronised P1700P1 units will provide backup power to the data centre and two P1375E3 units will power the data centre's common infrastructure."

FG Wilson supplies data centres: Sentrum in the UK (2013)

For a data centre, a power cut can mean the loss of millions of pounds an hour. A reliable power supply is therefore crucial to the success of a data centre.

Increasingly, data centre providers are turning to FG Wilson Engineering Ltd, as one of the world's leading manufacturers of petrol and diesel generator sets, to protect them from the risk of power loss and business downtime.

The FG Wilson product provides power support for data centres in countries around the world, including the UK and Ireland, Europe, South America and Asia.

Sentrum (now Trinity DC) - owner and operator of a number of data centres across the UK - is just one example of a large data centre company that relies on FG Wilson for electric assistance.

Specialising in the operation and ongoing management of mission-critical environments, Sentrum offers flexible, cost-effective and resilient data centre solutions delivered by a highly experienced team. Comprising over 1.4 million square feet, Sentrum's high specification facilities have been designed and built to enable customers to confidently specify every aspect of their centres.

Sentrum was also the first data centre operator to offer fully bespoke and scalable solutions, with a dedicated factory (mechanical and electrical infrastructure) for each data suite. This ensures that Sentrum customers have access to truly customised solutions in terms of space, power configurations and resilience levels.

Tri-Gen Power Limited, one of FG Wilson's UK distributors, supported Sentrum with all its back-up power requirements. Over 130 FG Wilson diesel generators, rated at 1,500 kVA, have been supplied, installed and commissioned by Tri-Gen Power Limited in recent years. These generators were supplied with FG Wilson 20m long, 70 tonne soundproof enclosures.

As many of Sentrum's data centres are located close to residential areas, this electrical product had to guarantee extremely low noise levels.
The cooling system has been designed with remote roof-mounted radiators fitted with low-noise cooling fans, while the exhaust system comprises three separate low-noise silencer elements that discharge vertically.

The generators are equipped with automatic synchronisation panels and are generally paralleled in groups of twenty. They are also supplied with fuel tanks with an operating capacity of 72 hours.

Franek Sodzawiczny, co-founder and development director of Sentrum, said: "Our selection of FG Wilson generators for our UK data centres was based on quality, reliability, competitive pricing and delivery - we have not been disappointed."

As the demands of the data centre industry continue to evolve, FG Wilson continues to adapt its product and service offering to remain the first choice for power support.

FG Wilson products range from 5.5 to 2500 kVA, including open and enclosed generator sets providing main and emergency power - from domestic emergency use, to power modules with the ability to operate as complete power plants supplying electricity to national grids.

With a global network of 380 dealers, FG Wilson serves and supports customers around the world to provide quality power solutions.
