There are basically two possible types. The first type is an enclosure that hugs the generating set as closely as possible. It is both weatherproof and soundproof. The other type is a full-access container, similar to a shipping container. It can be weatherproof or soundproof.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Warning<\/strong> :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Before closing and locking the accesses to the enclosure or container, make sure that no-one is inside.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Enclosures fitted with door closers or swing doors (where applicable) must not be opened when the wind is blowing at more than 20 km\/h.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Before closing the envelope, make sure there are no obstructions (especially hands and fingers) to prevent damage or injury.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>For transport purposes, some silencer outlets on generating sets housed in a total access enclosure are fitted with cover plates. These should be replaced by the exhaust outlets, supplied complete with pre-fitted rain caps.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Make sure there is no debris on the chassis before you start, as a loose object could damage the radiator.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-vivid-red-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Enclosed generating sets should be installed outdoors. If an enclosed generator set is installed indoors, sufficient cooling must be provided by fresh outside air, and the hot air produced by both the engine and the coolant must be evacuated outside the building via ducts. The exhaust ducting and piping must be designed to minimise back pressure, which would have a negative effect on the performance of the generating set.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Because enclosed generators are easy to transport and can be set up and operated at a temporary location, much of the detailed information provided in this section on fixed installation may not be applicable. Nevertheless, the following points should be taken into account for temporary stationing of the generating set:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Choose a location for the generating set where it will be protected from damage, and away from exhaust fumes from other engines and other airborne contaminants (dust, textile fibres, fumes, oil mist, vapours, etc.). Noise levels vary according to the configuration of the generating set and its final installation (bolted to a flat surface).<\/li><li>Make sure that the generating set is not positioned in such a way as to impede access to or from the area where it is located.<\/li><li>Place the generating set on firm, level ground which will not sag or otherwise be affected by vibrations caused by the operation of the generating set.<\/li><li>Make sure that the exhaust gases are not likely to constitute a hazard, especially after taking the wind into account.<\/li><li>Ensure that there is sufficient clearance around the generating set to allow access and maintenance.<\/li><li>The electrical earthing of the generating set must be guaranteed at all times, and in compliance with local regulations.<\/li><li>Provide access to the fuel tank, for refuelling when necessary.<\/li><li>Protect the electrical cables between the generating set and the load. Les capotages \u00e9quip\u00e9s de ferme-portes ou de portes \u00e0 bascule (si applicable) ne doivent pas \u00eatre ouverts lorsque le vent souffle \u00e0 plus de 20 km\/h. Avant de fermer les acc\u00e8s de l&rsquo;enveloppe, assurez-vous de l&rsquo;absence de tout obstacle (mains et doigts, surtout) pour \u00e9viter tout dommage ou blessure. Pour les besoins du transport, certaines sorties de silencieux des groupes \u00e9lectrog\u00e8nes log\u00e9s dans une enveloppe \u00e0 acc\u00e8s total sont munies de plaques de recouvrement. Elles sont \u00e0 remplacer par les sorties d&rsquo;\u00e9chappement, fournies compl\u00e8tes avec le chapeau antipluie pr\u00e9mont\u00e9. Assurez-vous de l&rsquo;absence de tout d\u00e9bris sur le ch\u00e2ssis avant de d\u00e9marrer, un objet mal fix\u00e9 risque de causer des dommages au radiateur. Les groupes \u00e9lectrog\u00e8nes ferm\u00e9s sont \u00e0 installer en ext\u00e9rieur. En cas d&rsquo;installation d&rsquo;un groupe \u00e9lectrog\u00e8ne ferm\u00e9 \u00e0 l&rsquo;int\u00e9rieur, il faut pr\u00e9voir un refroidissement suffisant par apport d&rsquo;air frais ext\u00e9rieur, et l&rsquo;\u00e9vacuation de l&rsquo;air chaud produit \u00e0 la fois par le moteur et le liquide de refroidissement \u00e0 l&rsquo;ext\u00e9rieur du b\u00e2timent, par des gaines. Le gainage et la tuyauterie d&rsquo;\u00e9vacuation des gaz d&rsquo;\u00e9chappement doivent \u00eatre con\u00e7us pour limiter au maximum la contre-pression, qui aurait un effet n\u00e9gatif sur les performances du groupe \u00e9lectrog\u00e8ne. Du fait que les groupes \u00e9lectrog\u00e8nes ferm\u00e9s sont faciles \u00e0 transporter et peuvent \u00eatre mis \u00e0 poste et exploit\u00e9s sur un lieu provisoire, une grande partie des informations d\u00e9taill\u00e9es fournies dans le pr\u00e9sent chapitre sur l&rsquo;installation fixe peut n&rsquo;\u00eatre pas applicable. Les points suivants sont n\u00e9anmoins \u00e0 prendre en compte pour une mise \u00e0 poste provisoire du groupe \u00e9lectrog\u00e8ne : Choisissez pour le groupe \u00e9lectrog\u00e8ne un lieu o\u00f9 il sera prot\u00e9g\u00e9 des dommages, et \u00e0 l&rsquo;abri des gaz d&rsquo;\u00e9chappement des autres moteurs et des autres contaminants en suspension dans l&rsquo;air (poussi\u00e8res, fibres textiles, fum\u00e9es, brouillard huileux, vapeurs, etc.). Les niveaux sonores varient en fonction de la configuration du groupe \u00e9lectrog\u00e8ne et de son installation finale (fixation par boulons \u00e0 une surface plane) Assurez-vous que le groupe \u00e9lectrog\u00e8ne n&rsquo;est pas positionn\u00e9 de telle mani\u00e8re qu&rsquo;il g\u00eane l&rsquo;acc\u00e8s, \u00e0 l&rsquo;entr\u00e9e ou \u00e0 la sortie, \u00e0 la zone o\u00f9 il est situ\u00e9. Placez le groupe \u00e9lectrog\u00e8ne sur un sol ferme et plan, qui ne s&rsquo;affaissera pas ou ne sera pas affect\u00e9 autrement par les vibrations caus\u00e9es par le fonctionnement du groupe \u00e9lectrog\u00e8ne. Assurez-vous que les gaz d&rsquo;\u00e9chappement ne risquent pas de constituer un danger, surtout apr\u00e8s prise en compte du vent. Assurez-vous que les d\u00e9gagements autour du groupe \u00e9lectrog\u00e8ne sont suffisants pour en permettre l&rsquo;acc\u00e8s et l&rsquo;entretien La mise \u00e0 la terre \u00e9lectrique du groupe \u00e9lectrog\u00e8ne doit \u00eatre garantie \u00e0 tout moment, et en conformit\u00e9 avec la r\u00e9glementation locale. Pr\u00e9voyez l&rsquo;acc\u00e8s au r\u00e9servoir de carburant, pour ravitaillement lorsque n\u00e9cessaire. Prot\u00e9gez les c\u00e2bles \u00e9lectriques tir\u00e9s entre le groupe \u00e9lectrog\u00e8ne et la charge.
